The Pharmacy First service allows patients to see our trained Pharmacist at Ashworths Pharmacy for 7 common infections and getting the appropriate prescription medication without the need for seeing a GP.

The Ashworths Pharmacy team have received the appropriate expert NHS training and follow strict NHS guidelines to provide this service safely.   

Please call us or visit Ashworths Pharmacy to speak to our pharmacist, if you are suffering from any of the following 7 common infections:

- Sinusitis (suitable age range 12 years and over)

- Sore Throat (suitable age range 5 years and over) 

- Earache (suitable age range 1 to 17 years) 

- Infected insect bites (suitable age range 1 year and over) 

- Impetigo (suitable age range 1 year and over) 

- Shingles (suitable age range 18 years and over)

- Uncomplicated bladder infections (UTIs) in women (suitable age range 16-64 years)

The pharmacist will conduct an immediate in-person consultation and offer you the safe and appropriate diagnosis and advice; and if certain criteria are met and deemed clinically suitable, the prescription medication will be dispensed to you right away. The usual prescription charges will apply. If you have prescription exemption, this will apply.
